Kratom shipments remain delayed for quota determination, not a ban or serious restriction.

As shared in our previous update, kratom shipments / exports from Indonesia were expected to experience delays during the regulatory transition period. As of now, that status remains unchanged.

Currently, exports remain delayed, mainly due to the ongoing determination of export quotas for the new period. However, this situation does not represent a new development. Instead, it is a continuation of what was previously communicated.

What Is the Current Status of Kratom Shipments?

At this stage, there is no ban, suspension, or serious regulatory action affecting kratom exports.

Rather, the delay is purely administrative and relates to the following processes:

  • Finalization of the new export quota period
  • Activation of new export approvals

Importantly, these procedures are routine, even though they are taking longer than expected.

Is There Any Negative Regulatory Signal for Kratom Shipments?

At present, there are no indications of:

  • A renewed export ban
  • Criminalization or prohibition
  • Structural regulatory rollback

In fact, the process underway follows established regulatory patterns, although progress has been slower during this transition.

Expected Timeline (Important) for the Kratom Shipments

OOnce quota determination is finalized, exporters must still complete standard compliance steps. Specifically, these include:

  • Export Approval (PE) issuance
  • Laboratory testing and documentation
  • Final customs processing

In practice, these steps typically take around two weeks after approvals reopen.

As a result, shipment departures are realistically expected in approximately one month, excluding delivery or transit time.

What This Means for Buyers

For buyers and partners, this update means the following:

  • Orders remain valid and are not canceled
  • Production and preparation continue where possible
  • Shipping will resume once documentation is cleared

Therefore, the delay affects timing only, not legality or long-term availability.
